CPD Provider and Course Accreditation

The Bar Standards Board has various types of accredited CPD course providers including; sets of Chambers, Government Legal Services, Inns and Circuits, Specialist Bar Associations, Solicitor firms, Universities and various external commercial providers.
 
Course providers are able to apply to the Bar Standards Board to become accredited to provide CPD for the Bar.

Only accredited CPD course providers are able to advertise their accredited courses on the courses database included in this site. 

The process for applying to become an accredited CPD course provider takes at least two weeks. The Continuing Education Officer will notify applicants of the decision in writing.

CPD course provider accreditation should not be confused as ‘overall’ accreditation; the Bar Standards Board requires all accredited providers to apply for individual course accreditation at least two weeks prior to commencement of the course in question.
